This week started off with a bang. My college age son came home for a few coveted days and we made the most of them. One of the things he taught me was Disc Golf.
Disc Golf is a game that apparently must be played in the forest. The object is to throw a frisbee, oh excuse me, I mean a disc into the woods and try to hit a chain looking thing without hitting any trees.

Notice all the trees you are trying not to hit.

Here is the chain looking thing you have to get the disc into. I managed to hit all the trees so if this were bowling I would have made a very descent score.
Feeling quite confident in my new found ability to hit every object in my path we decided to go bowling. Needless to say I'm better at hitting trees than I am at hitting pins.
Now that our Mommie and Me time was over, and yes I still call it that just not in front of my son so please don't tell him. It was time to get back to the garden. This time I enlisted help from everyone.

Meanwhile Garrett was a huge help in cleaning out the spent summer garden and making room for the fall garden. We had a bumper crop of basil this year so I was able to make plenty of my beloved PESTO.

PESTO oh how I love you. You make everything you touch just a little bit better. If you would like the recipe on how to make this click here.
This was our week from July 31- August 6. I hope your week was full of family and fun and pesto too. |
